Summit Writing Workshop

Story Quest: Recycled Stories

Workshop Details

Every day we take objects and make them into something else - cardboard boxes become doll houses; pop bottles become rockets; milk jugs turn into birdhouses.

In this workshop, students will use themes and plotlines from familiar stories to create their own.

Just like you find elements of the original item in recycled products, you’ll find elements of the original story in their version.

By allowing students to repurpose or recycle a familiar story, we remove the pressure to create something from nothing.
